Armed security operatives have taken over the entrance to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) office in Ikoyi, Lagos.
This comes before a youth-led protest known as #ReformEFCC.
The organisers stated that the protest aims to oppose certain methods of the anti-corruption agency.
The EFCC advised parents and guardians to caution their children against joining a planned protest arranged by a “shadowy group.”
EFCC claimed that the group has been “actively campaigning on social media, recruiting impressionable young Nigerians, including students, to take up arms against the agency”.
Some Nigerians have been criticising the anti-graft agency for its nocturnal raids of hotels, clubs, and hostels.
