Abe claimed that Amaechi warned him that he and his supporters would face hardship within six months if he refused to abandon his gubernatorial ambitions and align with him.

Speaking at a gathering with his supporters and party members at his Freedom House office in Port Harcourt, Abe, a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC), recounted how Amaechi visited his residence and cautioned him against running for the governorship, citing potential party disintegration.

Abe said: “Amaechi announced that the rebellion would not last for six months and that after six months all of us will go hungry and return to him.

“This is six years and more, look at us, we have shaken the country, we have deflated them, they have ran away and left the party and that is why we must go back to the party and we must go back now.”

He asked his followers to join the APC in the state to back President Bola Tinubu’s government and also support the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, who he mentioned was collaborating with the APC administration.
